The "Add/Remove Pen Components" and "Optimizing the Pen File System" components are greyed out in the Desktop application. How can I access them?

When the communications with the Pen are disabled, the Desktop cannot detect communications with the Pen, and cannot initiate communications with the Pen. Make sure the Pen Communications in the Desktop are ON.  To toggle Pen communications ON, go to the Pen Communications menu in the Desktop and select "Turn Pen communications ON".
